Seal never holds your key, phrase or passphrase. If this site disappears tomorrow, your funds are still on Solana and your backup still opens them.
24-word recovery phrase
Shown once when you create a wallet. Type it into Phantom, Solflare or Backpack under "Import recovery phrase" and you get the exact same address. No file, no tool, no Seal.
Encrypted backup file (.json)
Locked with a passphrase only you know (AES-256, 600,000 rounds). Store it anywhere — Drive, iCloud, USB. Without the passphrase it is useless to anyone who finds it.
Offline recovery tool
Opens your .json with your passphrase and shows the private key to import into any wallet. Runs fully in your browser, works with the internet off, uploads nothing.

- 2Open it in any browser — even offline, even if this site no longer exists.
- 3Pick your .json backup and type your passphrase, then press Unlock.
- 4Copy the private key and import it in Phantom, Solflare or Backpack (Import private key).
No tool at all?
Every backup file carries its own recipe in the howToRecover field: PBKDF2-SHA256 → AES-GCM → 32-byte Ed25519 seed. Any developer can decrypt it with standard libraries in a few lines of Python.
Keep in mind
Nobody can reset a lost passphrase or phrase. A key imported elsewhere is a normal wallet again — no approval seal — so move funds back into a fresh Seal wallet when done.
